The Steuben County Sheriff’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization which was founded in 2019. Utilizing donations to memorial funds and finances raised through foundation events we are able to support the initiatives and goals of Steuben County Sherriff’s Office. Not only can we support initiatives ranging from training programs for our officers and crime prevention for the community they serve, but while doing so, we are able to ensure that 100% of the funds are utilized without placing any burden on the taxpayer or the existing limited budgets that the county and the Sheriff’s office already manage.

Our main annual event is a golf tournament which is typically held in late August. This year we have more than twenty sponsors helping to support what is looking to be a fantastic event. In addition to the current sponsors, we are also appreciative of past sponsors of this event. Due to the current situation with Coronavirus, in an attempt to accommodate those businesses which are having financial hardship, the board has decided to include signage for last year’s sponsors who are unable to contribute at this time. We look forward to their involvement with future events and appreciate all of the support that they have shown.

In addition to our golf fundraiser, we often receive memorial gifts for general funding or to be used for specific initiatives that the foundation is supporting. Our most recent Memorial gift in the amount of $10,000 was used to purchase a fully trained k9 which has recently joined the Steuben County Sherriff’s team. In addition to purchasing the new four-legged officer, we also provide supplies and give financial assistance for the training of his handler. We look forward to sharing his successes in the future.
